Preparing for Your Trip to CBME China 2018
Release date:2018-07-16
Here's what you need to know to get the most out of your trip to CBME China 2018.
The Best Apps to Download
A VPN. Google, Gmail, and most forms of western social media are banned in China. If you want access to any of these sites, you will need to download a VPN before you get to China, otherwise you will not be able to get one. Some popular VPN choices to check out are Express VPN, VPN Master, and Vipr VPN.
The CBME China English App. Get the full exhibitor list, bookmark your preferred booths and activities, view floor plans, get tips on transportation, and much more. Google Play is unavailable in China, so download the app before coming if you are an Android user. Available for Android and IOS.
Baidu Translate. The Baidu Translate app can help you translate Chinese into any language you choose. You can type words, take pictures, or even speak into the app to get a translation.
Didi “Call a Taxi” App. Didi is China’s version of Uber. You can request a taxi, ride share, or private car. The app is available in English and will just require you to input your phone number to get started.
What You Need to Know for the Expo
Check out the resource page. Go to resource.wankeyun.cc to download the exhibitor lists and floor plans, get important announcements and reminders, and get more tips for the show.
Badges. If you have already received a badge, bring it with you. If not, don’t worry! After completing registration you should receive a confirmation letter with a barcode and registration ID. Go to the self-printing machine onsite to get your badge.
Getting a translator. Contact Langtool at [email protected] to book a translator for the expo. We have negotiated a favorable rate, so just let them know that you are a CBME China guest.
Finalizing Travel Plans
SIM Cards. Picking up a SIM card at the Pudong airport baggage claim area is the most convenient way to get data access in China, and you will be able to pay by the amount of data you want, but it may be more expensive than stopping by a store once you are in the city.
Hotel. Book your hotel as soon as possible! You can book via Ctrip or Booking.com. We have arranged shuttle buses from certain hotels to the venue. View the list here.
Flight. Shanghai has two airports, Hongqiao International Airport and Pudong International Airport. You can choose either airport, but the Hongqiao airport is closer to the venue.
